“My daughter is 15. The food program really, really helped us. Her grades have gone sky high. We’re in a good place now - we have a house and food and now we’re going to give back.”
“Before I got my own place, I was having trouble finding somewhere to eat. I have a daughter now, she just turned one. Everybody is supporting me and I love the support - that makes me feel like I’m going to be a good father.”
“I didn’t realize that people were hungry until I stopped working and retired. You never think that you would end up on food stamps. I never thought it. Even though it’s rough, I’m still blessed.”
Our Partner Food Banks
Operation Food Search feeds 200,000 people every month, distributing more than $35M worth of food and necessities to 330 community partners in 31 Missouri and Illinois counties and in the city of St. Louis.
“The donations made through GiftAMeal have allowed us to expand our reach, providing more people with access to healthy food. We are very grateful to GiftAMeal, its users, and its partner restaurants for advancing our cause.”
Kristen V. Wild, Executive Director

Lakeview Pantry has three food distribution programs that deliver more than 1.6 million pounds of food each year. It also offers social services that help clients achieve independence.
"Most people don't know that 1 in 9 people on the North Side of Chicago suffer from hunger and struggle with poverty. We are very grateful to GiftAMeal for aiding in the fight to end hunger and helping to feed Chicago's hungry."
Kellie O'Connell, Executive Director
Forgotten Harvest rescued over 45 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 800 sources (grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors).
“The importance of the food provided as a result of your generosity should not be underestimated… As metro Detroit’s only food rescue organization, Forgotten Harvest is an important source of nutritious food for those who turn to local feeding programs.”
The Forgotten Harvest Team
